My Top Water-Type Pokémon Picks By Region

Kanto Region: The OG Water Masters

Ah, Kanto! The birthplace of it all. This region holds a special place in my heart, not just because it was the first, but because it introduced us to some of the coolest Pokémon ever. It's a tough call, but my top pick for Kanto has to be Blastoise. It is the final evolution of Squirtle. Seriously, Blastoise is the ultimate water cannon! Who didn't love this Pokémon? It just screams power, and those water cannons on its back? Iconic! Blastoise’s design is incredibly cool and powerful. Its shell offers a unique level of defense while also providing powerful offense capabilities. Not only is it a powerhouse in battle, but it also has a nostalgic feel. Blastoise will always make me think of my first ever Pokémon journey! I really loved all the starters, but Blastoise holds a special place in my heart. Not only is Blastoise a powerhouse, but it also has a nostalgic feel. Its design just screams power. Plus, who could forget the sheer joy of blasting your opponents with Hydro Pump?

For any of you who prefer a dual-type, I give a shout out to Starmie. With its sleek design and incredible speed, it was a must-have on so many teams. Starmie is just so cool. This Pokémon is a Psychic/Water-type and is a real asset in battle. It's fast, can take down opponents, and its diverse movepool made it super versatile. It was always fun to go up against someone with a Starmie on their team. The opponent always thought they could take me down, but then Starmie swoops in and cleans up the entire match! It's a classic for a reason! Then there's Vaporeon, one of the original Eeveelutions and a total beauty. It's a tough choice, but those are my top picks. Johto Region: Expanding the Watery World

Johto brought us even more amazing Water-types! This region introduced many new Pokémon to enjoy. It's such a fantastic generation, and I loved the Pokémon. My top pick? It has to be Feraligatr. The final evolution of Totodile. I know, I know, it's a Water-type starter. But look at that design! Feraligatr looks strong and ready to battle. This Pokémon is just a total boss. Its design is great, it has a fantastic move pool, and it was just fun to use in battles. Those jaws, that imposing stance... it's all pure awesome. Plus, Feraligatr is the only water type starter with the ability Torrent. Feraligatr's design is just so good. I loved its design and its power. This Pokémon is a complete package. It can cause massive damage in battle, and with the right moves, it will dominate. Definitely one of my favorite starter Pokémon of all time.

Then there's Suicune, one of the Legendary Beasts, a real beauty. So elegant and powerful. Its design is fantastic, and it made for a really fun part of the game. Plus, who doesn't love a legendary Pokémon? It's a must-have in any collection! I've always been a fan of legendary Pokémon, and Suicune is one of the best.
